Learning styles

My personality type was ESTJ. It described me perfectly. A person who is normaly the leader and is not afraid of a big crowd. Also a person who has strong values and tradition. A pretty responsible person and can also takes care of issues. Im not a person to let emotions take me over but will respect and consider other peoples feelings. I think that it is important to know your students. If i know that some of my students listen differently or talk more, it can help the order of my classes. I can know who to look towards for leadership in the classes. The best organzers and students who might need a little more help with organization. I would split the talkitive students up as well. You also get to know your students personality which is vidal to a successful classroom. It always helps to have that home family type feeling and i think that would help the growth of the students

Excel Talk

After using spreadsheet i really enjoyed the things you can do on it. At first i dreaded spreadsheet but for some reason it just finaly clicked and i was able to really see the importance of the program. I would definately use it in the classroom as far as grade records go. Really anything dealing with numbers and list can be calculated easily in excel. I like the feature of draging the formulas and it computing functions for you. If you can use the spreadsheet effectively, it can really make simple projects fast and effecient.

The three things that the book explain about spreadsheet are presenting, calculating and storing. Mainly saying that thats the reasons of using excel. I found it very helpful to be able to use these functions. It is so much easier to compute calculations; in a since better than a calculater. It elimanates the writting. You can just type it in and drag the formula across and walla. Storing information and presenting is also a asset in spreadsheets. After doing some assignments dealing with all three, it has made me realize that this is the way to go to keep records in a classroom. Although there might be other ways, spreadsheets seem to save time, be more effective and be user friendly.

week 3

In the inspiration video i found out some really cool ways to make the classroom a much easier place to work. The first thing that comes to mind is a english or history class that has to write a paper but the student is brain locked on a topic. Inspiration helps you find ideas, organize them and elaborate off them. I think its really neat how by the click of a mouse on a button you can come up with a whole outline. the thing that intrest me the most was how it can take a diagram and turn it into a outline. It makes it much easier to write papers, reports etc. I wish i had this in highschool.

I think the best writing activity that makes the best use of technology is powerpoint and inspiration. Powerpoint goes in handy with presentations and such. You can get in and put down information or pictures of what you researched or wrote about. I would definately use inspiration as a form of technology in a english class setting or history. Book reports at lower grade levels and papers at higher levels. I think using e college and blogs are good ways to have peer feedback. I am also sure there are other was in the tech world to get the feedback but those two ways i can see it being easy to interact and give feedback through students

Questions

I like the idea of using blogs. I think its a unique way of teaching a classroom. I can see it being used in tech classes and also classes where u can express your thoughts and point of views. Since technology is taking over in this day and age it is the appropriate thing to implement. I have never delt with blogs but so far i am enjoying it. Young people these days live on the computer so if there is a blog dealing with class, the student would feel more comfortable doing it. To people who think it is a waste of time ; i beg to differ. People might object this idea because its not the norm but if we give it a try in some classrooms, i think it could make a diference.

I think that it will help with the students that might be less subject to speak in class or share ideas and they will be able to do it in blogs. It opens up and extends the classroom. It gives the students a chance to speak on topics as well as find out information about class related topics or assignments. But all in all blogs will make the classroom more enjoyable and easier to learn, as well as interact
